Pork chops can easily dry out when they are fried or grilled, so if you are looking to experience juicy, tender, and delicious pork chops while decreasing the amount of fat in the recipe, you will likely want to learn ways to bake pork chops. When you bake them you can avoid using side fat that would ordinarily be needed for a number of cooking methods.
When preparing pork chops its recomended to select your meat carefully; to lower the amount of fat in your meal, choose pork chops that are boneless. You should look for chops with a little bit of fat in order to keep the meat from drying out. A coating mix is the ideal choice for baked pork chops and can be ready bought or prepared at home in a variety of ways.
One homemade mix is crushed croutons or seasoned bread crumbs. Stuffing mix can also be used. Blend the crumbs and selected spices then dip each pork chop in a batter of egg and milk. Allow excess to drip off before putting the pork chops into a large plastic bag. Shake each pork chop in the bag until it is completely coated with the mixture. Pull off each pork chop with a pair of tongs, placing them on a non-stick baking pan or one that’s been sprayed with cooking spray. Be sure that the pork chops are not against each other.
When all the pork chops are coated, place the baking sheet in an oven that’s been preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the baking sheet in an oven and bake the pork chops for about 35 minutes, based on the thickness. You will realize they are ready when they are golden brown in color. Remove the pan from the oven. Before serving, cover the baking pan loosely with foil, allowing them to rest for 3 to 5 minutes for tender and juicy pork chops.
